Sat. June 5th… Future of Fashion 2

This Saturday our group of super-talented artists is celebrating two years together! The Lexington Fashion Collaborative presents our second annual Future of Fashion show at the Carnegie Center in Lexington KY. Doors open at 5pm, show starts at 6pm. I believe I’ll be the first “act” to go on, so make sure to get there early and enjoy some appetizers from Magee’s Bakery and Coffee Times. Please visit our Facebook event page for ticket info and more details.
See you there!

“Nextington 4″ fashion show Sat. May 8th

This Saturday at 7pm, myself and 3 other designers from the Lexington Fashion Collaborative will be showing our work at “Nextington 4″ … come out and see us! The show will be at Awesome Inc. located in downtown Lexington. Many thanks go to Andrew Kung for helping us with the promotional photos for this show. The image above is credited to him, and includes three of my newest designs and one by Soreyda Benedit-Begley.

After our show This weekend, I also recommend that you attend “Passing: Fashioning Drag” at Buster’s. I’m very VERY excited about eveything that is hapening this weekend…the next several days will be jam-packed with activity, that’s for sure!

Trash Fashions Update

Thanks to everyone who made the Trash Fashions show (April 8th) a great success! There are so many people who helped make it happen, and I sincerely thank all of you.

Jason was able to take some amazing “studio” photographs of our lovely models after the show, one of which is featured above. Alexa is wearing a two-piece gown made from packaging plastics, black bubblewrap, and a vintage bedsheet.

If you’re on Facebook, Jason has posted other photos there, too. Photographer Ann Christine has shared her photos of the runway event online as well, and you can find them here. My sincere thanks go to photographer and good friend Angela Baldridge for photographing the exhibit before it was taken down for the closing event.

Sutra Salon and Spa in Georgetown provided the hair and makeup for the models (what a fantastic job they did!) and are having an Earth Day event tomorrow (Thursday April 22nd) where they will be featuring some of my art for the next week or so. It will be sort of a “mini installation” …so if you missed the exhibit, come see a few pieces there!

I can’t give enough thanks to the wonderful models that I have been able to meet through this and other events, and their families who are so gracious with their time and helping hands :) Also, other help was provided by Lock and Key Cafe and Georgetown Printing LLC. Thanks also to Georgetown College for hosting the event! I’ll most likely be sprinkling more new photos here and there as they become available. Cheers!

Current Exhibit Sneak Peek

(I know, I know – the photo is tiny! But it’s meant to be only a peek, after all.) You may recognize the ensemble in the foreground, but the other outfit is new. I have heard a lot of great comments from people who have seen my current show (at Georgetown College, they are open 12-4:30pm during the week) so Thank You to everyone! I’ll post an official announcement for the closing reception and fashion show very soon (mark you calendar for April 8th!).

Most of my pieces, including a few newbies, were also recently modeled at a fashion show in Lexington, KY (hosted by Images Talent at the Red Mile Clubhouse). Here’s a link to a photo slideshow from the event. The other two designers to participate in this event with me were Sara Jane Estes and Soreyda Benedit-Begley.
