Wardrobe Refashion- prom dress

prom dress - floor length.Shawl. On a hanger. Here’s a quickie… it’s another small project that I’ve completed. My step-daughter found a prom dress that she fell in love with, but it was about 6 or 7 inches too long for her.

(Really, she’s not short, and she’s wearing high-heels with it. Who were they thinking of when they designed it–RuPaul?)

The dress has two layers–a multi-colored paisley type fabric over top of a silky green solid fabric. I just chopped the extra inches of fabric, hemmed both layers, and used the extra material to make a matching shawl for her to wear. The fabric was really slippery, and cut on the bias, so it made for a slightly frustrating job. But she looks fantastic in it (and also quite a bit older)!

I absolutely love this dress, I love the print and everything. Where can I find something like this? My prom is coming up on May 22nd, and I would love to somehow purchase this, or something like it for my prom. If you could get back to me asap, that would be awesome, thanks!
